Call for Abstracts!

7th Annual Scientific Diving Symposium
Friday, March 4, 2016
Hosted by the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores

Consider doing a presentation at this year’s symposium! This is an opportunity to share your work, learn about other interesting research, gain presentation experience, and network with other scientific divers and researchers in a casual environment.  Past topics have included: maritime heritage and archaeology, fish and benthic communities of hardbottom habitats, coral reef monitoring, sonar technological advances, citizen science, and invasive species.

The Scientific Diving Symposium is held annually in Carteret County, NC and is open to all Scientific Divers, Scientists, and Educators who contribute to expanding knowledge of marine and estuarine environments.
Submit your abstract to present at the afternoon session by February 19, 2016.  The presentations should be 10-15 minutes in length in power point format.  There are also a few slots for longer talks (up to 25 minutes).  Please indicate which time slot you are interested in when you submit your abstract.
Register for the Symposium and Submit your abstract online here.
 PHOTO CONTEST
We will also have the photo contest again this year with the winner getting to dive in the Aquarium’s “Living Shipwreck” U-352 Exhibit. Submit your best photo that was taken while you were Scientific Diving! Last year’s winning submission:
